Default What fluid do you use to check compression.

Well I have the laboratorium measuring glas,, the scale is 0.1cc on the two foot long tube, so the possibility for a perfect check is good.
BUT,,
What fluid do you use to make the fillment of the chambers as easy as pos?
The water I use "stick to" the covering glas causing airbubbles that are hard to remove,,
Also do you use a large air vent hole and the chamber in absolute level,, or do you try to force the airbubble into one corner,,
Any useful ideas on how to check the last 0.xx cc would be reciated!

I've tried everything with water and so, battery water worked good with some candy color.

And I used ATF tramsmission fluid but that is to messy but it works.

Take care.

I have used water too, sometimes slightly blended with washerfluid to reduce the surface pressure. I have also used a letter weight scale to doublcheck the result; one cc of water weighs one gram, so you get another figure from the weight reduction of the measuring glass.

I have used water with radiator coolant to give it color!
Perhaps soap and candy color is a better idea!
It seems like the coolant make the fluid able to cause "bubbles!?

What about cleaning solvent,, petrol for instance??

Use alcohol with some coloring in it. You might want to put in a small hole to vent out the air.
