4 speeds
plumebody,Your 4 speed needs to have two shifter mounts on the tail shaft you need the rear one for use in a "E" body. I cant tell you about your numbers but I can tell you that if you have two mounts its a 71&up "B" body or its an"E" body trans,if it has an 18 spline input shaft its a "hemi" trans

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if its"the one" I need. The shifter mount is near the end of the tail shaft though. I may have to dig a little deper. THanks Mike

4 speed
Is the pad closer to the yoke or closer to the trans? If its toward the yoke and there is only one, it would be an A-Body trans. If it is closer to the tranny, it would be early B-Body and will not work in your Challenger. The A-Body will not work either
