Ideas for gear ratio's for my 440 w/727
I took the rear end casing out of my 1970 dodge challenger because it currently has a 4:10 set of gears installed. I'm replacing the bearing on the axles, and thought it would be a good idea to give my challenger a new rear end gear ratio so I don't burn my tires off the line, and also so I don't blow my engine going 65 mph. If anyone has a good gear ratio combination they'd like to share would be much appreciated so I can get it back on the road this spring.
Thanks |

depends what you want
If you are going for better mileage/lower RPM's on the freeway, put a set of 3.23's in her, if you want a little off the line still, but lower RPM's on the highway, try a 3.55 set. Anything much lower than that, you are gonna be turnin some revs goin down the highway.

Stock motor
Original 375 horse or modified? The stock grind would do best at 323 on the road.but I have enjoyed 355 the most with somewhat tall 15s.

But I would lean more towards this one. |
