'64 318 to newer 360 swap?
Found a 360 I want to put into my 64 Polara 500, to replace the original 318 Poly, and have a few questions.
I know I'll need new motor mounts - found those at Schumakers. Can I use the original 318 exhaust manifolds on a newer 360 engine? Transmission - can I use the original 727 torqueflight that's in the car, and if so is there anything I need to modify to do so? Any other problems I might face with doing this swap? It ***seems*** like it should be straightforward - but who knows...!!! Thanks! |

It will go
First off the manifolds are different, the old cable shift should bolt up but the balance might be different. What year motor is it?I just dont know if a late converter will go in or not.If you are lucky enough to score a steel crank 360,the old one should be fine.
