Fuel pump return ?
I have a 89 dodge dakota and put a 318LA in there maken about 300 HP. I was using the stock fuel pump in the tank (14.5 PSI) I took it out the other day, was haveing problems not enough fuel at carb. so I put a holly inline fuel pump (7 PSI, 96 GPH) on.
Now how do I setup a return line? I dont want to burn up the pump or will it be OK without a return line. |

If this is a carbureted rig just use a 3 fitting fuel filter (1 in, 1 out, and one restricted return) Can't remember the years, but they were std equip on later 70's (I think) cars or in that neighborhood.
Some had the return parallel to the outlet, some were 90 deg to the outlet (out the side) The restricted orfice was around .040"- .050" if I remember correctly. (???) |
