Default Car Died, Need Help

I was driving my car last night, and all of a sudden, the battery drain light came on, and it quit. At the same time, my stereo turned off as well. I tried to start is, but it did nothing, didn't even turn over. All the lights work except the signals and the horn. I checked the fuses and averything, but they are all good. As I was checking the fuses on the fuse block, I noticed that there was a "relay type, cylinder shaped thing", labelled t/delay, and it was really hot, could this be my problem?

Gripe

It's an '83 Cordoba, w/318 and lean burn ... I am also thinking it's the ignition switch? How do you pull that out?

ya, but the thing is that my lights still work... interior lights, guage lights, headlights, highbeams, etc. It just doesn't turn over, radio won't turn on, and the signal lights don't work. This is my daily driver, and I live on an acherage, so I'm kinda stranded until it's fixed.

Thumbs up test probe

Start at the battery, and stick the pointed end through the insulation on the wires.Go to where the light does not lite and backtrack to the the connection just before it and there is your open spot. Could be fusable link or just something loose, mabeye at the firewall plug.look for melted stuff.

This realy is the timer for that litle light that shines on you keys when you open the door. It's not a problem. Most likely you lost a fuse link. It will be in a wad of wires that runs from the battery area along hte inner fender well towards the back fire wall.

Exclamation the column

Its in the column, steering wheel first, then the light assy,is it a tilt?are things coming apart causing a loose wheel?Keep poking wires up the column to see if the switch is working. You can do it.

light bulbs work until zero volts. electronics quit working about 10.8 volts. if you didn't notice your voltage dropping, it could be quite possible that your alt or voltage regulator has gone bad. charge your battery, or with just a set of jumper cables, once your batt voltage is above 12v, you might see that everything will work just fine.

or, look for a blown fuesable link

Yes it's tilt, no loose wheel. Can't get at the switch as there is a big metal thing for the steering lock, but i'm gonna keep tryin' with the wires and such, all the help is appreciated! Any other suggestions?
