Starting shenanigans
I'm having an electrical problem with my car. when I turn the key to the "start" position that car won't start. after I let go of the key and let it go to the "run" position the car fires up.
When I'm cranking the engine over (start position)and put a multi-meter on the positive side of the coil I have no voltage, but in the run position I have about 10.5 volts. If I use a jumper wire between the positive side of the battery and positive side of the coil the car fires right up (in the start position 'cuz I have 12.6+ volts at the coil). Is this a sign of a bad starter relay? How do I check it? Or what are the other possibilities? I've replaced the ballast resistor 3 times and this hasn't solved the problem so I'd believe it's something other than that. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. |

Starter problems
Sounds like a bad switch. My ram did the same thing. Get a manual and some hand tools, you'll also need a puller. Most parts stores rent them, if you don't have one.

I'm going to pistol whip the next person who says shenanigans
Sounds like either a bad switch (like he said) or some dead wires. |
