360 Flex PLate
Hey guys ran intoa problem today when me and my dad were putting the rest of teh demon together.
I have a 1978 360 and 727 tranny i'm un aware of the year on it. But ne ways the flex plate is off just abit on my torque converter and i have a TCI torque converter any ideas on where i can get a new flex plate? |

Keep turning your conv. till they line up the bolt holes are offset so they only line up one way.Next is your conv. for a 360 if it is it will have little weights on it if it doesnt have these weights your motor will vibrate.And thats why your flex plate holes are offset.

done that already it's off by just a bit. i will prob call tci and see what they say have to wait for monday

Change Flexplates
Flexplate/converter mismatchs is a common problem. What I recommend is get a B&M SFI rated externally balance flexplate for your 360.
B&M part number #10236 These are drilled for 3 different bolt patterns. It is balanced so your converter doesn't have to be. If your converter is weighted for a 360 you will need to remove the weights. Oh, these plates are around $75 new, but trust it is money well spent. |
