Tranny mods?

I am going to build a 350 to 400 horsepower 360 to go in my wifes duster. The car will run 3.55:1 or 3.91:1 gears (havent decided yet) What mods should I do to the trans? It's a 727 out of a 78 Doba. Thanks

Do a stock rebuild out of the service manual, using good quality name brand clutches and bands. Add a Transgo TF-2 recalibrate kit to the trans. Get a 3.8 kickdown lever out of a 904 trans pay specific attention to get clearances to specification, and you'll be good. Remember stock 727 trans came behind under-rated 425 horse Hemi engines. You dont need the "fancy" red or blue clutches or any of the other latest tricks of the week.
Checkout www.bulkpart.com they should have everything you need. If you get into trouble on the rebuild look for the 727 guru John Kunkel. He posts on this board and is probably the most knowledgeable about the 727.
