Best bet would be to try out the car mag sites and do your research there.

This isn't a comprehensive list, but it's the fifty fastest American production cars (based on 1/4-mile times). It lists year/make/model, engine size, advertised horsepower, transmission used, and rearend gearing. It also lists which magazine did the test, as well as month and year. I paid a modest fee and downloaded a .PDF file that had production figures for all cars for the last 60 years or so, but now I can't find it. If I find the site again, I'll post a link to it. For now, here's the fifty fastest:

I found the sales figure publication I downloaded before. It's at www.productioncars.com. It's $4.99 to download, and it's about 300 pages. It gives basic sales figures, but not down to the gnat's ass. For instance, it will tell you how many 1971 Chargers were made, and will break it down by major trim levels, such as R/T, SE, and SuperBee, but it doesn't go as far as breaking down sales by colour, engine size, or other options.

Are you looking for sales figures or engine data on any particular models? There's not going to be one single comprehensive resource that lists sales figures, performance data, and engine specs for every car ever made, but if you tell us what you're looking for, we can probably help (even if it's not a MOPAR you're interested in--shhhh!)

thanks mucho grande, will have to download that.

Im mainly looking for how many of each car was sold generally, not per engine size or package, just the general car.

Like how many chargers were sold on 1968. Or how many mustangs were sold in 1970. (ie not how many 340 dusters were sold in 72, just dusters)

Also looking for the stock engine stats of each major muscle car... and well pony cars too. (ie CID, hp@XXXXrpms, tq@XXXXrpms, car gross weight, and type of engine like swirl port heads, commando etc) Thats what im mainly looking for. This is a research project for my autos class, its not due till end of summer semester so I have plenty of time to gather the info, just need a little push in right direction thats all.
