question about auto trans parts
i am getting ready to rebuild a 727 transmission, but have what may seem to some as a dumb question, but i am confused.
when looking for clutches and bands, i run into things like red clutches, black clutches, kevlar bands, grooved bands, smooth bands, etc. what advantage, if any, does one color of clutch have over another? and what about kevlar vs. original type lining on the bands? and why would i want grooved or smooth linings on the bands? my goal isnt to build an all race transmission, but i do want a good, solid, dependable high-performance street transmission to go behind my 440, which will be also be getting power upgrades over time. i am pretty sure i will go with one of the transgo valve body mods, probably the manual with low band apply, if i can. thanks for any advice.

Click here and ask this guy. He is a very ia into MoPars and does trannys as his main income biz. Not a side job. Not a hobby. This is his biz. He comes highly recomended by many with allways a positive feed back. Weather it's stock or full blown race, his rep is world wide like his trannys.
