Default 727 Vs 904

I have a 727 and i have a 904. Which one should i use in my 1974 dodge dart. i will be powering it with a 360.

The 727 is good to go as is. No upgrades.
The 904 is in need of making sure you have the tuffer unit.
There were 3 types of 904's.
997-998-999. The 999 came behind the 360. It has more (5 I think) clutch disks up front.

The 904 will be about a 10th quicker in the 1/4, or so in a apple to apple comparision.
The 727 is slightly longer. If your car came with a 904, you'll not need to get a new driveshaft.

I think you will be happy with the 727 rather than the 904..........They are capable of taking a little more abuse........ Also if you want to get a Stall Torque Convertor for it, you will have a much better selection............
