Default 727 4x4 band adjustment time

Been searching articles on band adjustment for the 727. Any thoughts or a website (John Kunkel?) for adjusting a 727 that has a 208 transfer case behind it? I read about the drive shaft method, is there any changes for a truck with a transfer case? tranny has a 5.0 lever, about 2k miles since the rebuild (dealer mechanic).

www.tciauto.com has what you need. On the kick down you just run it in and back it off a turn and a 1/2 and lock it down.

Forget the "turn the driveshaft" method of band adjustment, way too many variables to make it accurate.
The rear band adjustment is 2 turns out, 1 1/2 turns out on the kickdown band is correct for a 5.0 lever.

Default Hey RC dude!

Hey 440Ramcharger,

Exactly what is your tranny in your RC doing that makes you think it needs a band adjustment?
The tranny in my '85 Ramcharger is doing some funny things but is otherwise working and I think a band adjustment might be in order as well.

Mine seems to slip a bit when cold in low gear, but not when warmed up. Checked fluid and everything else, kickdown is adjusted right, New torque converter.

The tranny works great for the most part. Only issue is when I accelerate very very slowly in the 28 mph range. The 2 - 3 shift is harsh. Under normaly driving, it shifts fine. Possibly there is more over lap than desired?
