Default good 400-2 JY find in Phoenix, any takers?

72 truck with a 400-2. I pulled a valve cover and the intake and this engine looks like it has had a recent rebuild. Has the 346 heads, you could eat off the interior surfaces! backed up with a 727 and 8.75 with 2.9 open end gears. Would be an easy pull, any takers?

I am looking for some chrome trim in good shape that mounts over the tires on the fenders. Do you recall any there?

No, but I will try to remember to look for those specifically. they would be the same for trucks or RC, right?

Well, if any of you cold weather types ever decide to come down here for vacation, bring a truck and I will help you pull goodies at the junkyard. It is almost too late for this year, though. Another few weeks and it will be way too hot.....

there was a guy pulling it this morning.....I showed him the new +.030 pistons and told him that big blocks before 1975 can be bored +.060, not that this one needs to be bored, just taken apart, cleaned, honed, and put back together with new gaskets.
Like I said, it was CLEAN inside, and no perceptible ridge at the top of the cylinder.
someday when you have a few minutes, just pay the $1 to get in, then on the back of the entrance shed is a long price sheet. You might want to just stand there and read it.
Once you have an idea how cheap things are there, then the trick is to find stuff that is relatively new.
this truck is a prime example, it was in there because the transmission was shot, but the motor was a screaming deal at regular prices, and at half price even better. That is why I patrol the yard very carefully several times in the week before each sale.
If I had not gotten sick the day before the sale, the entire motor would be in my garage right now. But I wasn't up to it that day and for 2 days after that.
