rod oiling
HI!
I'm buildng my new 318, and I will use the full-float rod's from 68-69? there is no oiling hole for the piston-pin in them! but I want! so how large does you suggest I'm drill the hole? any toughts? ---------------- 318 + .030 kb 167 pistons j-heads stock crank .030 main - .010 rods lunati truck avenger camshaft ---------------- |

You really dont need them. We use the same rods in our 360 race engines since they are equal in strenght and they are a few grams lighter. We turn them as much as 63 to 6800 without any problems. IF you insist on doing it, I can get you the proper number to drill them to and the hole goes in the top of the rod pointing straight up at the bottom of the piston after you have your rods balanced.

ok! if you say so, I leave them undrilled! they are shot peened too...
I want max rpm/shiftpoint at 6500... |
