Default inter bearing seal 75plyduster dics brakes

Dumb question, which way does the inner seal go??
Is the metal side go into the hub, with the rubber thats out about 1/4 in; toward the dust shield, or does the rubber that is out 1/4in go into the hub against the bearing.with the metal toward the dust shield??? It has been a long time, for something so simple, this sure is hard..................................
