A body front end rebuild?
I was wondering if someone could give me a "how long will it take" estimate on a complete front suspension rebuild for a 73 A-body with disk brakes. I plan on replacing the bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends. I will be doing it myself with maybe one helper from time to time. The shop I'm using is pretty well equipped with air tools and a wide selection of hand tools, but no lift and no press.
Anyone done this before that wants to give rough estimate? I'd just like to know if I can get this done in 8 hours or less... |

I did it in weekend
You need a press! For the lower control arm bushings. The uppers I did with a couple large sockets and a vice.It took me the weekend due to mass quanities of beer!

yea, 8 or so hours could be more, lower bushing is the challenge, go with a good poly ,while your there, you will need the balljoint socket for upper, or proper size socket, and a press, good ole pickle fork.

Upper ball joints
I didn't use the ball joint socket. I used a "ford wrench" It's like a large adjustable wrench but on a 90 degree angle. Dont forget to use a cheater bar in conjunction with the wrench.
