Default 340 Sewing Machine

I just removed the 1.5 Crane Roller Rockers and installed Harland Sharp 1.6s.They both sound like a sewing machine when warmed up to oper. temp. around 1200-1600 rpm.Above that the engine noise drowns out everything.Ive adjusted the rockers with Hyd. lifters twice now.
Do all roller rockers make that much clatter or do I have crank the adjusters to max preload?
The Cranes which I ran for 4 yrs on show no wear at all and made the same amount of clatter also.
Timing is set up at 14 deg initial 35 adv.
Just a note....the engine responds and starts much quicker now,but that could be the 110 racing fuel it has now.I could bathe in that stuff
Only 1.30 more than unleaded prem. now.

I had the same problem after a valve job on a ferd and the rockers were not tightened down all the way. Nothing like pulling the rocker box covers on the way to work to make adjustments. Did you tighten the rockers down with the pistons at TDC for each cylinder?

Everything is tight.Maybe I am paranoid and this is normal.Engine runs strong and pulls hard.
A loud stereo could drown it out

Check the archives, I beleive I read about this topic a time or two before. Some roller rocker set ups are kinda noisy.
