oil sending unit question
Ok heres my dilemma: I've got a 89 360 that I put into my 72 demon. I wanted to use the original gauges but i ran into a problem with the oil sending unit (with light). Back in 72 they are 1 terminal units. No problem i thought (since i figured there were virtually no changes between small blocks until 92). Well i guess sometime over the years they changed the threads on the sending units from coarse to fine; so I couldnt use a 1 terminal from an older engine. So I had to grab a 2 terminal w/light for a 89 truck. Now I had to go to the junkyard and get the right harness. Heres where I am having trouble. The harness I got has 2 wires coming out of it; 1 gray and the other gray with a yellow stripe. Which one do I want to splice into my original oil light gauge wire? Does the other wire go to a power source? Im not sure if this is the right forum but I figured you truck enthusiasts would know better which wire is which. Thanks.

I'm not familar with your vehicle, but couldn't you use an adapter to match your thread needs.

You could just use an adapter or tap the correct threads into the block.
