Default Best place to live Co or Va?

Hi
I have to move, the firm I have worked for the last 20 years is sending me from Az to Colorado Springs. If I work there for 3 or so years I can (retire ) at 52 I owe a lot of back taxxes and loans againest my 401K ( what can I say my Challenger went over bugdetlol ) Option 1 is to move to Richmond Va Different firm so have to cash out 401K ( I have loans againest it) Same pay same type work.

I build a lot of cars and need some were car friendley. I will be taking a very modified 75 power wagon, my CJ5 and a slightly modified 89 Diplomat.

Questions anyone know smog laws for both? I know Va has inspection laws will 6in lift on power wagon pass. How about the 5' I added to frame will Va give me a hard time

Any input helpfull

I'd stick with your company now, or you'll loose your ass on those 401 K loans, plus the taxes and withdrawl penalties that you'll get hit with too.

Question WHAT???

You say retirement in 3 yrs, and you have a bunch of money on loan from your 401k??
Those 2 statements SURELY don't mix well!!
Then add in back taxes too??

I'd do what DWC suggested, and in addition, I'd take a long hard look at getting some help for the addiction to spending all,[and then some] of your money on cars.....

BTW, you don't have to cash out the 401K if you move. It's legal to roll it over, or move it to another program.

Good luck....

Yeah, a roll over to an IRA or Roth IRA would be a better choice than a cash out.

Default

If he has loans against the 401 account, and he leaves the company, they will probably make him cash out enough to pay off the loan, so he will get nicked on it.

Your right, he would have to pay off the loan or get hit twice with penalties and taxes, and fees.
