Can a Later 727 Front Pump
be retrofitted to a 1964/65 transmission to make them compatible with the more common high stall converters that fit the '66 and later transmissions?

Yes this can be done, But don' use too new a front pump stick w/ one from a'67 or so. ( I think that is the change over year )

The '67-'70 front pump assembly and input shaft are a direct swap into the '62-'66.
The '71-'73 pump will also work but the front clutch drum would have to be changed at the same time due to the wider bushing used starting in '71. |
