Default Is this plug too lean?

I pulled this out of my 340 after about 3,000 miles. I'm running a 6bbl setup with 10:1 compression, 340hp manifolds and the center carb is jetted with #64s. The car runs great, but I think this looks too lean. Am I right?

looks good to me, you want to look at the ring at the base of the plug.
as you can see it looks gray, which should indicate a pretty good setting.
are you encountering any surging while driving ?

After 3000 miles and your plugs look like that and you say there isn't any kind of detonation and it's running great I say that's not bad. ( Maybe a bit lean). Here's a link to reading plugs.

When I first got the car running the center carb had #61 jets and yes the engine surged at cruising speed. I read that the SB 6bbl setup should be jetted with 63s or 64s. My last tank of gas I did have some detonation but that went away with some Sunoco 94. That's the only time It has knocked. If I were to jet it up a bit, should I go up 1 or 2 sizes?

Thanks for your input.

I'd try just one more size up. Your real close now. 2 sizes up might just be a waste of fuel.

I think its lean, and not just a bit too. Should be tan looks more like off white to me, and should get tan after a few minutes of running too, it dont take 300 miles. Its always best to be a on the rich side than lean, your engine wiull like it too!
