Default 4 link for the street?

I have a car that I DO NOT want to cut up. I have seen some cars running 9.5 tires that cut some nice times. I think they use a 4 link of some type. Is there anyway to install such a setup using subframe ties as mounting points?

IIRC there were some pics on one of the boards in the last year or so of a car(68 cuda I think) that had the rear mounted to a crossbar that was built or tied into the subframe connectors. I think anyway, can't recall that well. I do remember the under car pics showed the new frames being red.

The 496 hasn't made its way into the car yet and I'm thinking of getting a new Dana built so I won't have any worries about breaking it. Brewers said they can build an all new one for 1800 and they are close enough I can pick up myself. Suppose to be stonger case than original(damn) and have pinion snubber provisions. I got to thinking that I might want to get it built with provisions for a 4 link or ??? also. Which should I run?

I would like to keep from cutting/drilling/etc if I can. This would be in a '70 Challenger. Or maybe a '69 B body, still up in the air. I haven't ever fooled with any setup like this so I'm a novice with terms, etc about it. Anybody out there run something like this?

Not I, but I have seen 4 links in MoPars on the street before. It can be done. But I can not help in setting it up. If the answer results here in performance do not pan out, ask in the drag racing section for additional help.

As you were saying here;

I believe thats the way to go about it.
Best check on that.

I've been researching this for my cuda, Here's what I came up with. With a 4 link you'll have clearance problems on the street (speed bumps ect.) go with a ladder bar setup. It's much more compact at the front bracket. Which ever one you go with you'll need a floating braket for the spring perch, unless you go to coil over's. The ladder bars are a little harder to make changes to and not as adjustable as the 4 link but their better for a street/strip car. I think the 4 link would be more for a race only car. This is all from research not experince and I sure could be out to lunch
