Looks like you could get the same results from using Rhoads or Crane VVT lifters. No Mopar kits, weak looking rocker! You gain 40 ft/lbs uder 2250 and gain 20 hp over stock? What does it cost? Interesting concept. Alfa used to run dual cog int/exh cams and one was advanceable through some gearing, produced a similiar result with a variable overlap.

If you really want to mess around with your valve timing by way of making it small at a low rev and the larger at a higher rev, try this and skip the rockers. (Hyd. cams only.)
Set pushrod length to depress the liffter plunger about .005-.010. instead of the suggested .050 or so. The shallow depressing of the pushrod into the liffter will open the valve later until pumped up at higher revs. This will take out about .040 of lift right off the bat until the liffter pumps up. Duration will also be shortened another 4-6 degress easy. Use Roads or other similar liffter. The use of Roads liffters or similar, will delay liffter pump up until a higher RPM. I forget what Roads says on how much or many degrees of duration they say there liffter knocks out. But they claim %20 more torque due to shorter duration. Also increased vaccum. |
