Default 3' exaust from Summit

I see Summit is offering 3" exaust systems from FlowMaster. Looks like all parts are there for about $470.00. Does anybody have any input on this setup... I have TTI headers 2.25 primary and 4.5 collectors. TTI wants $570 with DynoMax mufflers. Which do you suppose a person should go with??? The FloMaster setup comes with the series 40 street/strip mufflers. Neither include tips but I have a nice set allready. Both are mandrel bent... Any input????

What kind of vehicle do you have? My brothers 71 340 Duster has tti headers and we recently installed the complete 2.5" exhaust from tti. It fit like a glove with real good ground clearance and h pipe. It has the Dynomax mufflers and it sounds nice. Not annoyingly loud but not whimpy by any means. The flowmasters are noisy inside the car but I guess it all depends on what you do with it. Race? Cruise? Show?

It's a 74 Challenger. Not finished yet but here's what it looks like now

I don't want to have to wear hearing protection when just cruising... like you said, but I do want to let people know there's another Mopar in town.

Nice Challenger! I don't have experience with the TTi stuff for e body Hemis but I will be ordering a complete system for my 340 A body in the near future. Fit perfect as I said before. Good luck on your project.

Did I read that right? 4.5 inch collectors? Those are some big'uns! Of course that blower does speak of some CFM.

From what I have read in the past, the flowmaster exhaust system leaves a lot to be desired in the fit department. Where the TTI system fits like it is supposed to.

As far as the mufflers go, I prefer the DynoMax sound over the Flowmaster sound. TTI can set you up with Flowmasters, if that is what you want.

I would steer clear of the flowmaster. There mufflers have a real harsh sound especially at cruise speed....If you are making the power that the motor appears it is making you might consider larger than 3"...

Who said that they were too loud? They just have a tinny sound that makes your car sound like crap. The DynoMax muffler produce a much better sound and flow about the same.

Exactly as eholster said, flows are old school in my book...The straight through dynomax are the way to go in my book.

Have you considered installing Purple Hornies mufflers? A friend of mine recently installed a set on his 440 Coronet and he claims a very noticeable performance increase. This car truly has a sound of its own since he installed these.

Thanks Guys & Gals???

The TTIs are ordered.... I don't think mufflers will make much difference in performance increase or decrease on this project. I just want a nice sound and a good fit. I knew I was going to order the TTIs probly all along I just needed that little push. I mean what's a hundred bucks when I have probly 22,000-24,000 in the project... and still no paint.

Should be nice when it's done....

again thanks for pushing me in this direction....
