Default shifter

i am looking to buy a shifter for my 72 charger. i have no idea what i am looking for besides me knowing i need one with a cable (because my headers interfer with my linkage). do most aftermarket shifters have cables? whats better hurst or b&m. its for a occasional driver with a bit of horsepower. i dont want anything really fancy jsut something that will work. thanks in advance

The majority of aftermarket shifters use a cable.

You'll find owners of both B&M and Hurst that are happy with the product.

The only problem with my B&M is the shift indicator is always out no matter how many times I adjust it. I have the megashifter. everything else is good. Nice shifter.

They are pretty straight forward. Just attaching the bolts, choosing the right bracket and running the cable. Directions were pretty good if I remember correctly.

Cheetah SCS by Turbo Action...i love that shifter...its got a cable coming out the front, but its flexible enough that it can make decently sharp turns without kinking...not to mention they never break, and are basically just a tap it forward through each gear, or leave it in drive and let it do itself...install takes about an hour or 2
