89-91 tbi 360 heads better than 202 j's?
I just found a 89 360 tbi roller engine for $400, are the swirl port heads worth obtaining? If so, do they need to be bumper up to 2.02 or leave them at 1.88? I am running a Herbert solid .555 lift roller .242@50 and a dual plane Edelbrock LD340 and looking for max torque and good pull up to 6000. This engine possibly going into my 72 Challenger in lieu of the BB for better handling (less weight on the nose) and braking. Respond only if you have actually made this change on a similar rig, please. Thanks, Wedgehedd.

what's the casting number
Is the casting number 302 or 308? If 308 they are the good LA casting for the street/strip. IMHO Magnums are superior but there is extra cost to install them on LA motor.....

Not sure.
The motor is a stock '89 roller 360 truck motor, did they use both #'s stock on the tbi motor's? I will definately check tommorrow before I purchase them.

I have done this change from 1.88 to a 2.02 valve and with your cam specs and intake, I would do it again. The swap of valve size works real well with smaller cams. I have not had a roller cam, but similar size solids. The gain is worth it all around. You'll get what your looking for.
