Here's a new one. I've got a 1992 3.9L 5 spd, 4x4 dakota. The engine has has 103k on it is getting a little tired from pulling my car trailer 50 miles a week. So I thought of selling the truck but realized that i have 4 big blocks laying around gathering dust 3 440's and a 400. The 440's are spare motors for my dart or any other project I may have, so I got the idea of dumping in the 400. My soon to happen project.
The information that I need to know is will a big block 4spd bell houseing fit the 5 spd in my truck and waht size flywheel and matching clutch to use. I plan to build the motor to make 300 hp. Another thing I have to consider is the exhaust, What headeres or manifolds will fit. Anyone response will be grwatly appreaciated. Thank you Pete The Killer!! |

Phoenix Transmission.com Pete. Leave a note for the web guy, he will answer you on the bell housing. I know your a go hard kind of guy, but a 360 is a drop in for that truck, just a thought anyway. If you go big block, I say headers, maybe some fenderwell exits from the old big block dart days.LOL
