Question Small Block EDE Carb Throttle Linkage

The 72 Cuda 360/904 is getting closer to hitting the road (close enough for linkage time!!)

I am trying to get the correct parts for the throttle linkage. I have a EDE1407 carb (AFB style I believe) on a EDL-7576 RPM dual plane intake (this sits rather high.)

I am now trying to get some good looking and good performing connections between the GO pedal and the carb.

EDE's web page shows me that the EDE1481 throttle kit is a needed thing for their carbs to fit on a Mopar. (True?)

Mancini's web page shows me that their MRE1057 is a kit for holding the outer part of the throttle cable to the small block intake, specifically for high rise manifolds. They even claim (if I understand it correctly) that the EDE throttle kit is NOT necessary with the MRE1057. ?? But I have a hard time believing this. ??

So, do I need both the EDE1481 and the MRE1057? or just the MRE1057? Or does anyone else have a different solution for all this linkage stuff?

My 904 has a manual valve body, so I don't think the kickdown linkage is required.

Thanks, Tim Eckert

i have a performer intake and carb (600 cfm) on my 318, I used the eddy bracket on my carb, and bent the throtle bracket to line up, it works, have had no problems.

Default Small Block Linkage

Thanks Teddy, is your intake manifold very tall?

The linkage bracket I have is from a 318 2 barrel, and I just can't see being able to bend it over far enough towards the left side of the engine (starter side) to get the cable to line up with the EDDY performer carb.

I have seen some cars (maybe not Mopars) where a thin sheet of sheet shaped like a carb gasket is sandwiched between the carb and the intake; but it has a part that sticks out specifically to attache the throttle cable to.

Anybody with experience? Any idea who makes this plate thing?

The Performer is about as tall as stock, but the stock 2bbl bracket worked when bent to vertical. You know, I think that I have a 4 bbl bracket at home, off a 360 van, rochester, but if it will work for you you can have it. let me know, I'm out of town right now, but will be home Mon or Tues, I have Friends in Concord, visit all the time.

Smile Small Block Throttle Linkage

Teddy

Yes, I would like to try your 360 4bbl van bracket. Plus, as you are somewhat local to me, I would like to meet a fellow mopar nut!

When you get back in town, please call me.

Default lokar love

I am using a Lokar throttle and kickdown cable kit on my 318 with a performer, and edelbrock carb. I used a throttle bracket setup from summit that goes between the carb and intake and has a piece that goes off the the back corner to mount a cheby kickdown bracket and morse throttle set-up. Tossed the cheb part but put the lokar cable through the morse bracket and drilled another two holes for the kickdown bracket underneath the throttle side, kinda eyeballed it to make sure it was straight. Keep in mind that my 8 year old could of drawn up and written better directions. I'll try and take a pic of the set-up and post it.
