Default what kind of limited slip do I have

trying to figure out what kind this is, is it stock or and aftermarket one. In a dodge 9-1/4".

Are you absolutely sure? Seems like a cone to me. I think 9 1/4's never even had the clutch type. I wouldn't care a lot wbout which one it is; when they are in good condition they both work, and when they aren't, they don't. The clutch style is easier to rebuild though.

thanks guys, good to know what I have. The axle is out of a '78 trailduster. I don't know when they stopped making the cone type.

Default It's a cone type.

The cone type is not rebuildable, but easily fixable. If the cone is bottomed out in the carrier, you can put it on a brake lathe and shave off some material from the flat end that faces the wheel. After that, you will need to weld extensions onto one of the spring plates so you can shim the springs for more pressure to make up for the wear on the cones. You will also need to get shims to correct the spider gear backlash, since this trick will move the cones and side gears away from each other.
