273 duel exhaust addition/size
I did searches but could not locate what I was looking for.
1967 Dart 273, 40 over, 224/468 comp cam, 355 chunk, 9.5:1 1. Was or is the exhaust (muffler/tailpipe) offset to each side of the muffler or was it down the center and then curved toward the frame and what tip was used? 2. What size exhaust from the exhaust manifold and what size tail pipe(s) should I use with my stock exhaust for best power/torque and sound. 3.A good muffler recommendation for no. 2 Thanks a bunch Dave Davis |

I can't answer #1. Thats a resto question for sure.
On exhaust size, a pipe of 2-1/4 will do fine. Mandrel bent pipe is best. (No kinks) On mufflers, I really like the Hooker Aero chambers myself. Nice sound. Throaty muscler sound. Not to loud. Good on cruise. They'll make a nice note when you hit the long pedal. They have the highest flow numbers for a chambered muffler. How the intake and exhaust nipples of the muffler are is your choice. There offten found offset or one center and the other offset. Click here; http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...SHHM/Aero.html |

2 1/4 pipe max on that little engine. An X pipe will also increase your torque and hp output.
