rolleyes2 big block duster??

i currently own a 73 twister i have a nice 360 to put in it but very badly want to put either a 400 or 440 in it. its got a 4 speed which is complicating things.can anyone tell me what i need as far as flywheel ,bellhousing, oil pan im in need of specifics here i know they make 10.5 and 11 inch bell housings can i use either one ?? does any of my small block linkage and throw out bearing work on big block.?? i have the exhaust manifolds but am very stumped about switch ing the clutch setup.the nice thing is theres no power steering or power brakes to simplify things. thanks for any help

You need a bigblock bellhousing. The flywheel depends fo the engine and crank used, you can't use the 360 flywheel since 360 is so heavily externally balanced. Most passanger car oil pans should fit. A 400 is narrower than a 400 and leaves more room around the engine; you will appreciate it. And of course you can stroke the big bore 400 and have a .....

Default RB Block in a Duster

I put a 426 wedge in a 71 demon, back when...it wuz a 4speed car too...I used the rear Motor mount to line up everthang...then I built front mounts to fill my needz...it wuz originally a 6cyl car, wit 3 speed...Tha v-8 clutch pivot worked, but the rod from peddle to pivot needed to be lengthened...I used a 10 1/2 inch clutch/pressureplate/flywheel, so a small bellhouse'in could be used...Tha Hooker fenderwell headerz work, but hit tha tires, limit'in steering turns...I built my own under chassis headers, but U run outta room quick...Word ov caution, tie tha frame rails together, and a cage will be a smart move...especially if ya gunna run any kind ov hook'in tire...when I put on tha slicks, wit tha 5:13 geer, it twisted my car bad unuff to crack windshield(I didn't tie rails 0r have cage)...it also will make buckelz above tha rear tires in tha 1/4 panelz...It won't do that wit street tires, it juss leeves a LOT ov black marks!!!!...REX
