Default why you should not buy from hotchkis

i e-mailed hotchkis this morning about parts for my dakota. the response, pasted below, was nothing short of incredibly rude and asinine. please, refrain from purchasing their products.

Subject: dodge dakota springs

i am planning on purchasing your suspension products. i have already
decided
on the front springs, pn 1912F. i also am interested in the rear
springs, pn
2406. my questions are thus:
1. what are the spring rates on these compared to the factory non RT
springs?
2. what will these springs do to my payload capacity/towing ability?
3. is there a compelling reason over the drop and the fact that these
are
new parts that these springs should be used over either a shackle flip
kit,
blocks, hangars, etc?

the intended usage for the truck is as my shop truck (Hellbilly
Hotrods), an
autocross toy, and daily driver. it is currently a bone stock 1997 V-6 5

speed ext cab sport, two wheel drive.
thanks for any help you may be able to provide on this.

that was their honest reply to me. i replied to that in a curteos, if displeased, manner, as well as informing the area rep for them, that i was not happy. the rep has been trying to ink a deal with queen city corvettes, which i am a member of, for quite some time. its going to suck for them if they lose the 500+ person account with the club.
so before i completely burn them, im waiting until monday or tuesday to see what happens.

Waiting until Monday is probably a good idea. That reply doesn't sound mean-spirited to me. Certainly, it's an inappropriate response to your e-mail, but if they were trying to be mean, I'd expect it to be worse than that. I suspect it's an honest mistake, like maybe having multiple e-mail windows open and typing a response in the wrong one.

Well, I think, ....well....A possible e-mail to someone in charge would be a good point to start. Well worded and non-nasty.

mistakes happen when people are gliding over info. Hell, at first glance I thought this thread was "why you should not buy from hotchicks" thats why I popped in, been burned by many. Sincerely, The Wedge.

it was an honest mistake. thats why i waited. amazing what happens when you wait with a cool head.
mike
This was an honest mistake. I had a customer by the name of Crawford
call in and asked for some info on the dodge Dakota and also stated that
he had sent an e-mail. He placed the order and stated that his Mother
was going to call with the credit card information for a Christmas gift.
So I thought this was the same guy I spoke to on the phone. I'm sorry
for the mistake and the confusion.

this is yet another instance of me being taught restraint of pen and tounge. hell, even the east coast hotckis rep e-mailed me with a personal apology. my esteem for the company has been restored, if not increased, by this exchange. thanks for being understanding, and letting me blow off a little steam
