V6 Vs V8 Magnum Engine.

Are these two engines Identical on the front half, I was told the 3.9 is just a 318 with the last two cylinders missing, is this true? If this is correct then every thing on the front of the 3.9 should fit the 318 (brackets, water pump, etc) anyone know for sure?

Yep, it is a 318 minus 2 cyl.'s.
The front should bolt right on since there identical on the front.

And isn't the V-10 the same way, a V-8 with stuff added?

will the surpentine set-up(water pump, pwr steering,alt,air condtr,brackets) off of a magnum, bolt on a la 360?

The serpentine system turns the water pump in the oppisite direction so you will need a magnum water pump, clutch and fan. Also the timing cover is different (doesn't have provisions for a mechnical fuel pump) so I do not know how this will effect the postioning of the water pump pulley or even if the magnum water pump will fit a LA timing cover.

Also the accessory mounting points on the Magnum heads are not in exactly the same place as the LA so there will be some fabrication on the brackets required.

FWIW, the Magnum rocker arems are 1.6 ratio the V10 are 1.7. They are interchangable and cheap. An easy way to get a little more lif out of a stock magnum cam.
