MSD ignition box

I'm yarding the factory ignition in the Ol' ladys duster but where is the best place to mount the big red box? Inner fender or under the dash?

I stuck my MSD and coil under the dash, and used a bulkhead feed-thru for the business end of the coil. MSD makes those too. It really cleaned up the appearance under the hood, and any weight transfer is good (like THAT would be noticable).

inside the car would be best. I had 2 short out on me. However, in the engine bay is easoest. Just mount it high and out of the way protected if you can.

That's strange, mine is sitting right behind the battery, out in the open, no problems with it at all. It gets a real nice breeze when the car goes down the track. MSD7AL-2

Mount it under the battery tray if you can, but not upside down. can you mount it to the front of the radiator support; nice and cool there bit youll be able to see it through your grill...

It's also stealth to have them inside and out of sight!

You to huh Fast. I have a bunch of problems with them. Though, they were fast on fixing it, still had problems.
Had a rep call me up asking on how it performs since being fixed. I told him I don't know, it's sitting in a draw collecting dust and refuse to use it. I have had just that much trouble with your (MSD) product.

I broke my crane and accell 300+ boxes mainly because of my own stupidity (the other because of a voltage peak when the battery decided to leave the car, and the other because of water, located unde the dash and a leaking windshield gasket) but my MSD's have been trouble free. And unlike those digital boxes, the old style MSD's are easy to undestand and can be repaired by anyone with basic electric knowledge.
