Default Need help with my holley 4165 DP carb

Hey,
I got this carb token apart and cleaned and blowed out. And when its on the engine under 1500rpm it runs fine. But as soon as its above 2000rpm you can huge droplets of gas going in. In 20mins it used 2.5gals of gas. The float bowl it parrel to the roof. Is that right? How do I fix this?
thanks

I am not a carb expert, but I have an old Ford F350 that I have to change power valves on constantly becouse it will blow out even if the engine thinks about backfiring.

Today we ran it again. and we put 4psi instead of 11psi. It saves on gas now and squirts instead of big droplets. But at high rpm(3500), there are alittle of the big drops. Well see if this carb will work good.

Holley needle and seats do not like 11 psi. 6-7 psi is fine. Also check your float level. Looks like either the floats are high...or your high fuel pressure was blowing past the needle and seat.

yea, i think its working preety good now, its just rich, cuase when its past 3k and you slow it down fast to 2k then go back up to 3k, theres alittle light black smoke coming out. The front jets are 76 and rear are 83. Is that good for colorado?

I would find out what the stock jets are. What elevation are you at?

Holley says that you need to make a jet change for every 2000 feet in elevation.

So you might be a little rich.

Im at like 5000-5500ft. So then i would go down 1jet size for every 2000ft. So I would need to go down 2.

My memory says the 4165's come with jets in the low 60's in the primary side. Secondary depends on if it is a 650 or 800 cfm. Your jets are too big.
This will cause the fuel issues you have.
Try it with 64-65 it will clean up nice.
This is a good carb for street use. Spread bore like the thermo quad.
