Default gas gauge question

ok, need to know this and i cant find my FSM to look it up. its in a box somewhere since the move....
what are the ohm readings empty and full for the stock fuel sending unit on a 70 model a-body?

Roughly 73 ohms empty
Roughly 10 ohms full

These numbers may vary a bit but you get the picture.

I have a repro 3\8" pickup and the ohms read the same no matter where the pick-up is located. Where should the probes be placed to get an accurate reading?

+ lead from meter to the + post on the sender, - lead to any ground on sender
