I think the Man trans springs are a little stiffer & may have an extra leaf on one side. Make sure they are the correct springs for your cars weight . I got a set one time and my rear bumper was about 8 " higher than the stock springs. (I didn't use them!) Make sure they are correct for your application.

A 4spd car will launch harder than an auto tranny car therefore the spring on the right rear of a manual car has a little more arch than an auto spring.

Every big block B-Body I've owned/either a 4spd or auto had extra leafs on the right side to compensate for torque.

That's correct, plus some have an extra half leaf on the front segment too.

With super stock springs should you keep the rear spring clamp on ? I'm getting ready to instsall some on my dart. With my stock springs i removed the rear clamp & gained an inch of rise on launch, & helped traction problem & lower 60' time.

Yes, they can be removed and they work real well .Just leave the one on that's closest to the axle.

If your car is 3700 and you have a choice between 3600 and 3800 springs you use the 3800 springs. Springs are not rated by car weight anyway, they actually have a spring rate. Some are 125 lbs per in. for example. Mopar rates the SS springs the way they do so someone wont put too much spring in it. Just look at anyone on here that ask about making there car handle. Everyone of them wont to put too stiff a spring and T bar in them when all they need is one step stiffer than stock, some large sway bars, and an agressive shock package.

Yep, that'll do it for most.

Eric; Seen a Dart run 9.8's. His biggest problem was 60 ft, since he was sporting slant six leafs, worn out and sagging.

We have used SS springs for years on DOT's and naturally aspirated pump gas engines. Nothing special in the suspension including shocks, and they work decently. Actually very well for teh money spent; they are both regular street cars with zero teicks; stock 340 front suspensions etc. My '66GT's (3310lbs) best ET was 9.69 with a 1.40 60 ft and our '69 valiant (3100 lbs) has run 9.54 with a 1.39 60 ft, it has 2" lowering blocks in the rear. So they work pretty well I think. These cars were not very consistent all the time, sometimes they tend to unload the tires after the launch; too much raise I guess? I have sold my '66, but we'll still continue with the '69 this summer, we'll try to stiffen the rear portions to control the raise and get better rear shocks.
