Default 360 Headers

Does the 318 and the 360 use the same headers?

I think all "LA" engines use the same header, although, yes, the port sizes differ.

The headers will bolt to all three LA small blocks. The difference, where headers are concerned, is between the car bodies. You need a set for your engine and your chassis.

This thread brought a question to mind.
While the headers will obviously interchange at the exhaust flange between a 318 and a 360, I wonder if some things like primary tube diameter should be considered. A mild 318 could use a lot smaller primary tube than say, a full race 360. Yet, the smaller tubes may help in situation where more torque is required, as well as more space around the motor. For example, using a smaller set of headers on something like fairly hefty B body wth a stocker 318 or 360 with road gears, vs using a full out race header on a caged and trimmed A body with a radical larger displacement A engine.
Then you have cars like the early A bodies where space is definetly a consideration, especially if you dont wish to cut the car up any.
I'm just pondering situations where something like a basic cheap Blackjack header may be preferable to a full out full race Hooker set or vice versa.
I think considering Roe's question, a decent set of basic B body headers for small block should work on his 72. Just which would be the best set, Blackjack, Hooker, or some brand which hasnt even been mentioned?

Hooker and Hedmans have the best fit overall for the price. And you can get those in any size tube or lenght that your engine combo needs.

Stoga; Your right. 100%. Though haveing them custom made like DWC said can be expensive for the street guy. Not a good bang for the buck deal. The big companys allways turned down my request for this.
KOOK's custom headers is very close to me. They charge huge sums of money for this service. And biz for them has never been better.

I did not like the Black Jack fitment on my Cuda. ('73) Which is the same as a "B" body bay. Headman was excellent. About to try my first set of street hookers on my big block. ('79 Magnum w/400 ) The super comps are great, except for the scatter sheild on the Cuda.
