Fuel Injected 440..
Hey guys. was just curious what you all thought about it. A friend of mine has one that he doesent want to use in his car, instead he wants a 318. And if you recall my last post, thats what I got in my Dart Sport. Should I trade him? Is it worth the work? I like the idea of fuel injection though. on a 440 would be great too...

What kind of FI?
Port or Throttle Body? OEM or Aftermarket? |

I know that Edelbrock has a fuel injection set up for about 2000 bucks, alot of money but it includes the intake manifold and all the stuff needed to hook up the EFI. Its a throttle body set up I think. Considering a good carb would be 400-500 and an intake would run you about 200 and gas will be running you alot it might be something to look at.

The EB system that you are refering to is NOT a TB setup. It is an MPFI setup.

Ok I was wrong, MPFI is better then throttle body right? Better throttle response isnt it ?

All aspects of MPFI is better. MPFI intects at the end of the fuel runner, so there are 8 injectors. TBI just replaces the carb with an EFI throttle body that has 2 or 4 large injectors aimed at the butterfly plates.

I just ordered an EB set up. Nice thing is the injectors can be upgraded if you rebuild your motor for about $450.00 Canadian to handle the power increase, I am building a new one wanting about 500-550 hp normally asperated.EB can also be set up with a hand held control module right in the car

The in car module is just a fine tune unit. You have to buy software from a third party and use it with a laptop, to do any real tuning.
550 HP is pushing the EB setup to it's limits. Many places will tell you that the injectors (EB largest) aren't enough for 550 HP. 48lb/hr is recommended for 550 HP. To upgrade to the 48lb/hr (which EB does not have), you will also need a stronger fuel pump. The fuel pump is why EB limited at 36lb/hr. |

We do have injectors upto 44 lb/hr, but yes, it would need a bigger fuel pump to handle 600+ horsepower. I forget exactly where the currect fuel pump cuts out. Been too long since I worked with a Pro-Flo system. |

Its still going thru the tooling process. That takes a while to do.
