Default Question

I'm going to buy a new fluid damper Harmonic balancer. Question is, we race a lot at nite, is it easier to see the timing marks with Chrome, Black, or another color???
Thanks

I use a black one. The numbers show up real well. THe chrome ones will scatter and reflect the light. I've never had any luck with timming tapes. I sling them off most of the time with the first start up.

Tape is illegal in redneck country. They tend to get themselves all hogtied with it!

You tape guys realize that the tape (Mr. Gasket brand, probably others too)has a plastic top coating that comes off after you stick it on, dont you? This reduces the mass of the tape, makes it very thin and light. If you get the damper nice and alcohol clean, the tape is on for a good while. The tapes always seems to stretch a bit when you apply them. I would go with the black engraved one.
