I ran one on my last project with a 750 Holley. Pulled well to 7000. Decent bottom/midrange also.

it dont matter now, there was one on ebay, but it got too xpensive for my cheap @$$, i was just curiouse. i dont think it is comparable to a action plus. a action plus is a "oem/performer type manifold, this stealth was spose to be more like a performer rpm

I run the Action Plus on the 340. Part # is 8007. Works very well from off idle to 5500+ rpm. Manifold is a high rise dual plane.

There you are, folks. One's a spreadbore, the other a squarebore. Have to go to Holley.com for the dimensions - they LOOK pretty much the same in the pics. Cheers

rolleyes2 Stealth

No, they are not the same. One has "Stealth" on it and the other has "Action Plus".

OK, enough of the smart A$$ stuff. Why the name "stealth"? I will guess that it is suppose to be a great manifold, but doesn't sit up high enough to be noticed as something other than stock??

The stealth has bigger runners and it's designed for a higher rpm range.

I think Weaind say idle to 5500 on the action, but I have had no problems with it pulling good to 6000. The stealth is rated from 1500 to 7000.

I still prefer the action on the street. It's lighter and a little better than the stock cast thermoquad intake and it works great with a thermoquad. Riverveiw allows aluminum intakes on the Sportsman cars and this is what I run.

on a sportsman, wouldnt you be better off with a single plane? like a team G, or torker? (my favorite-port o sonic) what about a accelerator?

We are stuck running 500 2 bbls on these things to keep the speed down. A type of restrictor plate so to speak and these actions work just fine.

You should see that track. It's like a 1/4 mile asphault soup bowl. NAshville is 5/8 high banked and just as fast.

They sure LOOK the same to me.
Same height on frt & rear with the same port window. Then I look at the carb pads and noticed that the Stealths pad could be opened up just like the Action+'s. Drill and tap for T-Q and your done.

I don't do anything except put a halo around the top of mine. If your worried about a tire comming through the roof, you can run a bar from front to back near the seat at roof height.

Those are very good pics! Take a look at the runner lengths and diameters. Weiand locates them differently, so they get a huge difference in length and diameter of the runners. This makes it basically impossible to tune the manifold for a wide range of rpm, like for a street car. The 8007 did well in hp testing (magazines) quite a few years ago, but they only tested for max, and started at a high rpm besides.

I did a lot of testing on an 8007 and found if I tuned it for high rpm, it was absoltutely terrible at cruise, fouling some of the plugs and getting terrible mileage. If I tuned for cruise, I would be lean on some cylinders at high rpm. Very bad with the turbos.

I switched to an M1 dual plane (very equal runners) and everthing got better, except for a tiny loss at the top end. No more fouled plugs, leanout, or bad mileage.

I haven't tested one, but I would expect the Edelbrock rpm or airgap to be far better than the Weiands, as the regular Performer I did test was also very good.

THey are not made for use with turbos, that's why you have problems with them. I've run the 8007 on many street and race cars, and have NOT found the problems that you described. It's a great intake for the small block. It's very close to the original thermoquad intake design, but it's much better and a lot lighter. The stealth works much better for higher rpm usage. Maybe you should have tried that one instead of the 8007.
