3.55 may be too much

I put a 3.55 in my Charger with a 8 1/4 and it turned out to be too stiff for my taste on the highway. I will change to a 3.21 or look into a overdrive unit when money permits. I changed up from a 2.73.

3.21 if your stock. 3.55's will be to low on the street. Rpm's will be pretty high at highway speeds.

I agree, I'm running 3:55's with 265 50 tires and spin around 3400rpm in the slow lane on the freeway with everyone passing me. These tires are pretty short, but, if you're running 28 inch or taller tires I think you'd be OK.

With my 25.7" tall tires and 3.23 gears, I'm turning about 2500 at 60, and about 3000 at 70. With your taller tires, and a converter that loose, I'd go with a 3.55 to keep the converter pretty tight on the highway. That's not a whole lot different than your 3.91's (9-10% less revs), though.

I had 3.55's in my 383 Runner before I started racing it and I loved 'em. Great street/hiway gears. The 3.55's get my vote.
