Default What are the 340 cam spec #'s?

I know that this seems like a lame question, but what are the specifications on a stock 340 camshaft?

I have a Hughes HEH1019AL grind# for my 360 and I have a lot of friends running factory 340 camshafts in their 360's. I have seen what these engines run with the 340 cam, but since I have the Hughes unit, I'm just trying to see how my camshaft will stack up against a factory 340 camshaft and what I can expect from it.

Thanks!

Can't find my Hughes catalog, but, those numbers sound pretty small. Probably an 'RV' cam. Hard to compare to factory cams just by numbers anyway. Chrysler never printed the @.050 dur. specs. Best bet would be to call Hughes and ask. 309-745-9558

Forgot about the duration @.050" tappet lift specs. I'll call hughes and see what the 340 shaft specs out at .050".

The cam that I have isn't that radical. It is about a step up from an RV unit, but this is going in a 1972 D100 SE 2wd longbed 1/2 ton restoration/slight modified truck. I don't expect a whole lot from the unit, but it sure sounds like a good torque cam.

the Hughes unit looks like this:

Valve lift @ stock 1.5 rocker ratio:
INT-.461"
EXH-.489"

Valve lift @ aftermarket 1.6 rocker ratio:
INT-.491"
EXH-.522"

Duration @.050":
INT-210°
EXH-219°

Lobe separation angle:112°

Opening @.050":
INT- -4° BTC
EXH- 44.5° BBC

Closing @ .050":
INT- 34° ABC
EXH- -3.5° ATC

I would go bigger, but I plan on driving the truck places and probably acrossed states for mopar meets and vacation. I may even adapt a 2bbl and jet it for my setup for the road
