Default early 1-2, late 2-3

I put the TF-2 kit in my 727, and it shifts into second at 3500 rpm at WOT

i didn't have enough speed limit to check 2-3, but i got it over 4500 and no shift...so i know that'll be ok
it will hold to any rpm in low, but not drive

BUT...i was thinking that maybe (to the tranny) it's shifting at 30-ish, and not 3500??
the instructions had said to grind the 1-2 gov valve and install a plate to be able to shift into first at any rpm....

maybe they mean to hold in first at any rpm in D??
i didn't do this mod, because i didn't think that it was really necessary, based on the instructions....

The transmission has no idea how fast the engine is turning, it only knows how fast the output shaft is turning and bases the upshift speed on that. The throttle pressure linkage from the carb to the transmission has some control over the upshift points, the internal governor works in conjunction with the linkage.

If the trans shifts too soon, lengthen the linkage to delay the upshift.

There is no need to grind the valve, that mod has nothing to do with upshifting, only downshifting.

i have the throttle valve cable adjusted so that the throttle valve is at max travel at WOT....can't be adjusted any farther, or the TV would limit WOT

i forgot to mention that....plus, the 2-3 shift looks like it'll be ok.....

maybe the governor is the problem??
