Biggrin Stroker info ??

Wanting to build a 426 wedge. I have a 383,400, and 440 blocks on hand. Also have a specific RB intake I need to use as well. HAte to use spacers to make it work on a b block, but I may have to. Would like to get it as close to 426 as possible. Any suggestions, before I look into this further ?

All the info can be had @ Indy or Hughes etc....
Port match the spacers if need be and it'll be fine.

alright, im still confused dwc, the 426W is a RB right?, so, you would have to de-stroke or sleeve your 440 to get 426.
stroke a 383/400 to get 426, but, the RB manifold is wider than the B, so how would spacers help you?
or am i just too stuffed up and stoned on cold medicin today?

The RB manifold is too wide for a B, not too narrow. I think MP offers a cylinder head that uses RB manifolds on a B but they are pricey. The 383 with a RB crank is 426 CID (4.25 X 3.75) but special pistons are required for this combo.

dodgetkboy78, destroking or sleaving a 440 is going backwards. Sleaving is not recomended at all to achive a certain cid.

jelsr nailed it. I got it backwards. He was thinking of MoPars Stage VI heads. The use of these heads are not striaght foward. On a B block, you use a RB intake.
If they were not so expensive, I'd use a set on my 400 and use a RB single plane intake.

That's what I was thinking of when I mentioned the intake. Stage V's and VI's. Do you have any info on the pistons? Thanks.

Stage V's are stock heads and the Stage VI's are aluminum castings. The Vi's are not a replacment head.
Pistons can be had from most any manufacture for this. Most any comp. ratio can be had as well. Here speed-o-motive has been doing it for decades;

KB has several varietys in cast hypers and fordged;

A write up on a 451 can carry over to a 426 stroker wedge project.

Heres a place that has a better handle on big block strokers.

Sorry, nothing exactly specific on a 426 cid build. But I think it's Indy and Muscle motors have kits and speced parts for it.
I was doing some looking around on a stroker. I have a 400 looking to grow up. I was thinking 500 cubes, but a 451 seems a tad cheaper. Non the less, I shelved the project. It can wait.

Thanks, I sent one of them an e mail and we will see what kind of pistons they can come up with for this idea.
