Default nitrous gurus-step in

the car: 1972 plymouth satellite, 2 dr, 318 auto. totally stock except dual exhaust. i need to know exactly what i need to upgrade in order to run a 100 or 150 shot. i'm assuming the stock 2bb carb won't be helpful, at summit they offer intake/carb combos. would i want the 600 or 750cfm? what intake is best? do i need to upgrade the fuel pump? do i need to upgrade engine internals or valvetrain? thanks guys

Pass on the Summit package. IT's not that good. Get a Weaind action plus and a stock 800 cfm thermoquad. MUch more throttle responsive than any holley. You can use the quad plate system under this carb. You'll need to richen the carb about 2 steps. A good fuel pump is a must. A good ignition system is a must too. Such as an msd box. A 100 shout should be enough and it can only be used at w.o.t. too.

No, they are spreadbore, and they are not made to work like the other carbs.
Almost like a quadrajet...
And they came stock that way

No, there not too big and they came stock on 318's 340's and 360's from '70 and up. You may need a colder plug. That's part of your tunning. You wont know till you run it. There's lots of good books out there on the subject too. I'd suggest getting a couple.

You should not be turning any more rpm, just getting to the red line a little faster so your springs should be fine. Unless they are worn out. They do make cams just for nitrous use, but that's more for use in a race engine.

No doubts on that, MSD hands down. And you can run a nitro timming retard baox with it too.

MSD has a new system setup with the guys who love giggle gas in mind, it has a built in timing retard function.

a jacobsen nitrous controller is also a nice for safety(and low budget)
it features rev limiter, ignition retard and fuel pressure cut-off safety.
my 69 dart with action+ and matched cam from summit,650 speed demon and tti headers runs 12.8 on skinny street tires (100 hp spray)

(stock engine,stock ignition)
