If the cam is installed in a motor you can setup to measure the lift with a dial indicator. I set mine up right on the cam and multiplied by 1.5 (rocker ratio) to get the spec I needed, but folks'll tell you to do it at the rocker arm, I believe the pushrod side, but I could be wrong there. Once you know the lift, you can compare it to the stats for MP cams at the online catalog for Mopar Performance Parts at Mopar.com

Good Luck

Dont need it in a motor just measure the lobe lift with a good caliper measure the base circle of the cam then measure the toe of the cam (actual lobe that lists the valve) then subtract the 2 and you will have net valve lift.....simply multiply that number by rocker ratio 1.5 for theortical lift.

A 509 will have around meansure near .339 lobe measurment.
A 484 will have .322 and etc

Give you a hint all mech purple shafts will be 3 bolt and hyd will be single bolt, at least the cams I have owned was.

In a big block, yes, three bolts are mech.

The rocker arm ratios are usually not so accurate, so it's always better top measure the "cam lift" and calculate than to measure it in the valve end of the rocker.
