Default Header install....Help please!!!

I just did heads/cam on my 1972 Dart Swinger with a 318 and 904 tranny and power steering. Im trying to install the Hooker Competition HEaders but i cant get the steering box to fit in there. I have jacked up the motor and take it out but can get it to go in...Has anyone done hooker headers with power steering?
thanks

Haven't done em myself so I can't say but I've heard horror stories about them. You might check out www.forabodies.com They are an a-body specific site and I've read alot about header fittment there.

Good luck, Tracy

Is it the steering box that's getting in the way or the linkage?

Worst case, you may be able to remove the steering box, get the headers on and engine back in place than mount the steering box back to the frame rail.

That's because the box is usually already on when you put the heades in. Just raise the engine from it's mounts and pull the left side header loose from the engine. IT should go right in. We've run them on several of our cars over the years without any problems.

I have 69 Super Bee and Hooker Comp Headers and the headers come very close to steering box as well. No problem putting them in though. Have to take the headers out to get starter off if I had to. Sorry no help but sympathize with you. A problem (will post new) that I'm having now is that my headers rattle against the control bar that goes down the length of the car. This only happens when it is idling but it can be very loud and embarrassing.
