Default Need ignition wire help (Jacobs Pro Street)

I am going to wire in my Jacobs Pro Street ignition in this weekend. I would like to do an instal where the ballist and stock ECU is bypassed. I didn't really see any Mopar specific set ups but figured that the green wire has to be the money maker. How do I wire this up? I am working on an electronic early 70's B. Thanks!

There are a couple of different versions of the pro street setup. You need the one that has provisions for the magnetic pickup. If you don't have that, they you still have to use the factory ECU inline with the Jacobs.

Thanks again E. I e-mailed the company so I can get the right stuff prior to install. I plan on switching over my stock electronic set up to another vehicle.

I don't know if you noticed or not, but Jacob's electronics has changed hands again. They are now owned by Mr. Gasket.

Thats a big check. They pulled up on the google search I did. They responded pretty quick within 24 hours of my help request. E what is this magnetic pick up you speak of? I was thinking about it the other day and can't seem to wrap my mind around it? Are you talking about the one in the distributor?

That is correct. The magnetic pickup (reluctor) is in the distributor.

There is no real cruising over here. Just a handful of CPOC shows and the BK cruisin every Friday and Saturday evenings. They tend to be there any weekend that the weather is good.

I'm not sure that the Magnum would really fit in. The cruise in tends to be 25+ year old cars and trucks. Then the import crap tries to come in.

I know this is a little off the beaten thread but there is a Baracuda club around Fredricksburg that hits the strip locally if your down with that. I went to one guys house "Lee" he has 9 B-cuda's. One on two are mint, a couple others are drivers and a couple others are parts cars. He hooked me up with a sweet intake cheap! If your interested I will give you a heads up when they plan to roll.

Unless they changed the Prostreet you have to run the stock ignition. That is what triggers the Jacobs system. If the Jacobs fails, (as several of mine did) You can drive home on the stock system. Jacobs is a "hybrid" ignition.

Look at the diagram. The Jacobs system that is designed for a magnetic pickup only uses the distributor. To piggy back it off of the stock ECU would kill any gains that the JAcobs has to offer.

If I had left the orange box and harness on the car and the car, I could swap back in about 10 minutes. Since that stuff is in the trunk, it would probably take about 30 minutes to an hour.
